Discover the iconic Tree House (Rumah Pohon) in Nusa Penida, Bali — how to get there, entrance fees, travel tips, and my personal experience. Perfect for Filipino travelers planning a Bali trip!
If you’re planning a trip to Bali, Indonesia, one destination you shouldn’t miss is the Tree House (Rumah Pohon) in Nusa Penida. It’s one of the island’s most famous landmarks — and definitely one of the most Instagrammable spots!
How to Get to the Tree House
The Tree House is located on Nusa Penida Island, just off the southern coast of Bali. To get there:
1. From Bali, take a ferry from Sanur Port — the ride takes around 45–60 minutes.
2. Once you arrive at Nusa Penida Port, your driver or tour guide will be waiting for you.
You can book a Nusa Penida Day Tour on Klook and use my code PINOTRAVELKLOOK to get discounts on tours, hotels, airport transfers, and even eSIMs. You can book the Nusa Penida Tour HERE.
Alternative Option: You can also book directly with a local operator. I booked my East and West Nusa Penida tour for IDR 1,300,000, which already included hotel transfers, ferry tickets, and transportation around the island. You can contact Putra at WhatsApp number +6281337374334
My Experience Visiting the Tree House
My Nusa Penida tour package included:
✅ Round-trip hotel transfers in Bali
✅ Round-trip ferry tickets
✅ Private car and driver around Nusa Penida
Note: Entrance fees were not included, so I paid those separately.
We started our day early, and our first stop was the Tree House — which I highly recommend! It’s best to go there first because the line for photos can get long, especially in the late morning.
To reach the Tree House, you’ll need to hike down a steep trail for about 10–15 minutes. Parts of the path are made of concrete steps, but it’s still quite challenging — so wear comfortable shoes and take it slow. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and cliffs. Truly worth the effort! 😍
Entrance Fees and Photo Tips
Entrance Fee: IDR 25,000
Photo Fee (Tree House): IDR 75,000
Viewpoint Only (No climb): IDR 50,000
Each visitor gets only a few minutes to take photos since staff manage the queue using a timer. If you’re visiting during peak hours, expect to wait for 30 minutes to 1 hour or even more during peak season.
Pro Tip: Be photo-ready before your turn — prepare your poses and camera settings in advance. The backdrop is breathtaking, and you’ll want to make the most of your few minutes on the Tree House platform.
Important Reminders
The path going down is steep, so bring water and wear comfortable footwear.
The climb back up can be tiring, so this spot might not be suitable for seniors or those with knee problems.
Visit early in the morning to avoid the crowd and catch the best lighting for photos.
Visiting the Tree House in Nusa Penida was one of my most memorable experiences in Bali. The combination of adventure, breathtaking views, and that perfect Instagram moment made it all worth it. If you’re planning a trip to Bali soon, make sure to include this spot in your itinerary!
