Kalinga is one of the unspoiled provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its name is derived from the Ibanag and Gaddang noun "kalinga", which means "enemy" or "fighter". This province is home to numerous of natural structures- from rugged mountains, deep rivers to amazing rice terraces.

Whang-od’s Village

International and local tourist's favorite to visit in Kalinga is Whang-od’s village in  the quiet town of Buscalan. It's the home of the famous Whang-od Oggay, the "last" and oldest mambabatok (traditional Kalinga tattooist). The tradition is called “batok” or the art of tattooing tribal designs using thorn and bamboo stick.

Binasalan Falls 

If you love to chase waterfalls, Binasalan Falls will surely be in  your bucket list if you are going to Kalinga. To reach the waterfalls, you need to pass through the dense mossy forests of Mt. Binuluan. It will only take an hour to reach the waterfalls from the main road.

Sulfur Hills

Just like Binasalan Falls, the Sulfur Hillsis is also located in Mt. Binuluan. You need to trek about an hour in mossy forrest to reach the Sulfur Hills.

Mt. Binuluan

Mount Binuluan also known as Ambalatungan, is a remote volcano in the Kalinga province. It's a 2,329-meter (7,641 ft) high mountain that features  fumarole fields, solfataras and hot springs. Trekking time will take 2-3 days.

Buaya Caves 

Another natural structure that you might want to visit is Buaya Caves. Located in the town of  Balbalan, Buaya Caves features various stalactite and stalagmite rock formations.

Sungang Viewpoint 

Sungang Viewpoint is a perfect spot to have glimpse of  panoramic view of the mountains and villages of Tinglayan, Tanudan, Tabuk, and Lubuagan. You can find here some of the amazing rice terraces ofTulgao and Dananao

Laroy Falls

Laroy Falls is said to be the the highest falls in Kalinga. The cascading waters plunges towards the Pasil River. It's a great destination to chill and relax during summer.

Dulag Historical Marker

Dulag Historical Marker is a historical site in Kalinga. This marker commemorates the heroic struggle of Macliing Dulag, a tribal elder who united the communities of Bontoc and Kalinga against the mega-dam projects of the Marcos regime.
