Tagaytay is one of my favorite destinations near Metro Manila. With its location and cold climate, a lot of international and local tourists visit the place to unwind and relax. This is the best choice for you if you want to eat bulalo, drink hot coffee, and chill at a place with a spectacular view of nature.

Manila to Tagaytay by Bus


One of the best and cheapest options to reach Tagaytay from Manila is by bus. You can go to the bus terminal located in Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and Buendia (Near LRT Buendia or LRT Gil Puyat Station). Choose the bus that is bound for Nasugbu or Calatagan, Batangas. Make sure to find the Tagaytay signboard on the bus, if none, ask the operator to confirm the bus route.


Manila to Tagaytay travel time is around 2 to 3 hours, depending on the traffic. The fare is around P100 to P120. 


You can also take the bus if you're coming from the Rotonda area and going to  Alfonso, Nasugbu, Mendez, or any destination along Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway.



Manila to Tagaytay by Van


Another option to travel from Manila to Tagaytay is by van. There's a  Calatagan van terminal located near MRT Taft. It is between Metropoint Mall and Kabayan Hotel. Tell the driver to drop you off in Tagaytay. The trip can take between 1.5 to 2 hours. 


You can also find a van terminal in Starmall, located across from SM Megamall. For people in the south, there's also a van terminal near Festival Mall. You can ask the drivers where the vans traveling to Tagaytay are. 


Manila to Tagaytay by Car


The fastest way to reach Tagaytay is by car. If you have a car, you can quickly drive from Manila to Tagaytay. There are 2 options you can choose from South Luzon Express Way or Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. 


How to Get Around Tagaytay


If you don't have a car, it’s a little challenging to get around Tagaytay because restaurants and tourist spots are distant from each other. There are no taxis or grab cars available. Public transportation is the way to go. The best option is to take a jeep or hire a tricycle to get to your destination.
