The Coron Ultimate Tour Travel Guide- Island Hopping

Taking advantage of a package tour will make your trip hassle-free. It will also save you time, effort, and money. A friend of mine recommended JY Travel and Tour to plan my itinerary for my Palawan trip. So I decided to contact them to arrange may Coron tour. The agency offers Coron Town Tour, Coron Island Ultimate Tour, Island Escapade Tour, Reef and Wrecks Tour, and Calauit Safari Tour. On this blog, I'll be sharing the places to visit on the Coron Island Ultimate Tour. The cost of this tour is P1500.

Island Hopping Day 2: Tour by JY Travel and Tours Coron Palawan

Kayangan Lake

Reef Garden

Cyc Beach

Coral Garden

Skeleton Wreck

Twin Lagoon

Before we go to our first destination, our tour guide gave us a brief orientation about the tour.  He shared about the do's and don't when traveling and what to expect from Coron. Jeff was a nice and funny guy. The tour started around 9 in the morning. It's advisable to bring your own swimming goggle and aqua shoes. If you don't have one, you can rent it for P150.

Kayangan Lake

Kayangan Lake is the most popular tourist destination in Coron, Palawan. It's a crystal-clear freshwater lake featuring underwater rock formations, caves, and islets. The water is clean and clear. No doubt why Kayangan Lake is said to be the cleanest lake in the Philippines.

There are a lot of things that you can do in the lake. You can swim, snorkel and dive. Of course, you can take photos and videos as many as you want. There's also a spot that you need to hike to see the overlooking mountain for panoramic views of the whole area.

Even you are a pro swimmer or diver, make sure to ask assistance from the guides and locals. They are the right persons to ask if the area that you want to swim is safe or not. It's also advisable to have the lifevest with you all the time.

Coral and Reef Garden

If you love to dive and snorkel, Coral and Reef Garden is the right place to be. Have a close encounter with a diversity of marine life at this spot. You are lucky if you will see turtles swimming around with you. We saw a lot of fishes and corals and they're very lovely. Be careful with jellyfish ( sometimes they're in the area) and sea urchins that live on the bottom.

Skeleton Wreck

The Skeleton Wreck is the most favorite destination in Coron for some divers. On this spot, you will see a 25m long Japanese supply ship that was hit by an airstrike during WWII by US airforce. Even you can't dive to see up close the wreck, you can still see it by snorkeling on the surface. The ship rests at a depth of 5m ranging to 22m at the deepest,  covered with colorful corals and a small clams.

Cyc Beach

Also known as CYC Beach, Coron Youth Club is the only public beach in Coron. It is part of a small island surrounded by an impressive coral reef perfect for diving and snorkeling. It features crystal clear waters, fine white sands, and covered with thick mangrove trees that provide shade to all the tourists who will visit the beach. Our guide told us that there's a 7/11 by the beach. Of course, we don't believe that. The 7/ 11 that he's talking about was a boat selling a lot of stuff. From sodas, snacks to beer, that boat has it.

Twin Lagoon

Our last stop was Twin Lagoon. The first thing we noticed was the amazing rock formations around the area. The crystal clear waters also caught our attention. It's very beautiful. It's recommended to rent a kayak to tour around the area. No worries, kayaking is an easy water activity. A kayak will cost P1000  which is good for 2-3 persons.

By the way, we took our lunch near the Skeleton Wreck. Our guides cooked mouth-watering seafood dishes. They also prepared some fresh fruits and vegetables. It's really nice to eat in a place surrounded by nature. I really enjoyed our lunch while on top of the turquoise waters.

It's also advisable to buy an action camera. Some of the activities that you need to do during the tour include swimming, diving, and snorkeling. So if you want to document all of your activities, take a shot using an action camera. I also recommend to buy a dry bag and waterproof case or pouch for your cellphone.

The Coron Ultimate Tour is P1500. I got my tour from JY Travel and Tours, one of the DOT accredited tour operators in Coron. The tour includes a licensed tour guide, boat transportation, complimentary pick-up and drop-off from the hotel - wharp area, permits and entrance fee, and buffet lunch. This tour is for joiners or solo travelers, but you can arrange a private tour so you can choose your destination and manage your own time.

In my next blog, I'll be sharing information about the places to visit on Island Escapade Tour. If you want to know places to visit in the town proper, please check my blog about Coron Town Tour Travel Guide. I also shared a blog about Where to stay in Coron and Where to eat in Coron.
