Cebu Pacific Increases Hand Carry Allowance to 10kg Starting September 15, 2026

Good news for passengers flying with Cebu Pacific! The airline is increasing its hand carry baggage allowance for flights operated by Cebu Pacific (5J), giving travelers more room to bring their essential items on board.

Beginning September 15, 2026, passengers traveling on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights can bring up to 10kg of total hand carry baggage, up from the previous 7kg allowance.

However, flights operated by Cebgo (DG) will continue to follow the existing 7kg total hand carry allowance.

The updated policy is designed to provide passengers with greater flexibility while maintaining clear guidelines on the number, weight, and dimensions of items that can be brought into the aircraft cabin. Cebu Pacific also says the measures will help its cabin crew manage baggage more efficiently, speed up pre-departure procedures, and minimize boarding delays.

Cebu Pacific Hand Carry Allowance: Only 2 Pieces Allowed

Under the updated policy, passengers may bring a maximum of two pieces of hand carry items on board:

1 hand carry baggage – to be placed in the overhead bin

1 personal item – to be placed underneath the seat in front of the passenger

Passengers should make sure they are able to lift and stow their hand carry baggage in the overhead compartment by themselves. Personal items must also fit properly underneath the seat in front.

Cebu Pacific Hand Carry Baggage Size Limits

While the weight allowance for Cebu Pacific (5J) flights is increasing to 10kg, passengers must still follow the airline's size restrictions.

The maximum dimensions are:

Hand Carry Baggage

Height: 56 cm

Length: 36 cm

Width: 23 cm

Personal Item

Height: 20 cm

Length: 35 cm

Width: 20 cm

Passengers are encouraged to check the size and weight of their bags before heading to the airport to avoid additional charges or delays during the boarding process.

Oversized or Overweight Hand Carry Bags

Any hand carry item that goes beyond Cebu Pacific's permitted weight, size, or number of pieces will have to be checked in. Applicable baggage fees may apply.

To avoid unexpected charges at the airport, travelers can consider purchasing their checked baggage allowance in advance or adding extra baggage through the Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific account.

Online Check-In Can Help Save Time

Passengers can also make their airport experience more convenient by checking in online through the Cebu Pacific mobile app or website.

Travelers who have no checked baggage can proceed directly to their assigned boarding gate after completing the necessary airport requirements, helping reduce waiting time at the check-in counters.

With the new 10kg allowance, Cebu Pacific passengers flying on 5J flights will have more flexibility when packing their essential belongings for their trip. Still, travelers are reminded to follow the airline's baggage limits to help ensure a smoother and more efficient boarding process.

Cebu Pacific currently operates flights to 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
