Exploring Palaui Island: A Paradise in Cagayan Province

Located on the northeastern coast of Luzon lies the beautiful Palaui Island, a pristine paradise awaiting discovery. Located in the Cagayan Province of the Philippines, Palaui Island is a hidden gem boasting breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and captivating history. This is my favorite destination in Cagayan  Province. Whether you're an adventurous traveler seeking outdoor escapades or a nature enthusiast craving serenity, Palaui Island offers an unforgettable experience like no other.

How to Get There

Getting to Palaui Island is an adventure in itself, adding to the allure of this remote destination. From Manila, travelers can take a flight to Tuguegarao City, the capital of Cagayan Province. You can book a flight from Manila to Tuguegarao via Philippine Airlines. The Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila flights operate daily with morning departures. The travel time is 45 minutes. From Tuguegarao, a scenic three-hour drive will lead you to the port of San Vicente in Sta. Ana, Cagayan. Here, boats are available for hire to ferry you across the azure waters to Palaui Island.

Top Things to Do

Trek to Cape Engaño Lighthouse:  This is a must-visit destination in Cagayan. Embark on a memorable trek through lush jungles and rocky terrain to reach the historic Cape Engaño Lighthouse. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, this 19th-century Spanish lighthouse offers panoramic views that are simply breathtaking. Don't forget to capture stunning photos of the surrounding landscape and sparkling coastline. Ensure you dress in comfortable attire, opting for sturdy shoes or sandals, as you traverse a rugged trail and concrete stairs. Enjoy the beauty of Crocodile Island - Let me tell you about Crocodile Island, a must-see spot in Santa Ana, Cagayan! Despite its intriguing name, don't worry, you won't encounter any actual crocodiles here. The name actually comes from the island's distinctive shape, which resembles a lounging crocodile when seen from a distance. It's quite a unique sight! This mall island features white sands, rock formations, and crystal clear waters, giving you a memorable adventure

Discover the Anguib Beach:  Anguib Beach sprawls along the coastline of Sta. Ana, Cagayan, also known as the "Boracay of the North." Renowned for its striking resemblance to Boracay, it stands out as one of the most picturesque beaches in the northeastern Philippines. With its powdery white sand, crystal-clear blue waters, and verdant foliage against the backdrop of mountain ranges, Anguib Beach captivates visitors with its natural splendor.

Indulge in fresh seafood delicacies like grilled fish, shrimp sinigang, and kinilaw (ceviche), sourced directly from the bountiful waters surrounding the island.
