Traveling To Boracay By Sea With 2GO Travel

Have you ever tried traveling to your favorite destination by sea? If you’re wondering if you should travel by boat, I hope to show my Boracay travel experience with 2GO Travel.

When it comes to travel plans, I usually consider airplanes and cars as my top options for transportation. These modes of transportation are convenient because I can get to my destination in a matter of hours. Recently, I went to Boracay by sea with 2GO Travel.

Manila-Batangas-Caticlan ( How to travel to Boracay via 2GO)

If you are coming from Manila, you can take a bus from PITX bound for Batangas International Port or locally known as the Batangas Pier. Another option is to take a Jam Bus from Cubao and Buendia terminals. The first bus to Batangas pier from Cubao and Buendia terminal departs at 1:00 AM, and the last trip at 12:00 MN. From Batangas Pier, the first trip to Jam Liner Cubao terminal is at 6:00 AM, and the last trip is at 7:00 PM.

The Modern Batangas International Port

If your last travel to Batangas International Port was before the pandemic, you will be surprised by its new setup. It's air-conditioned, clean and spacious. The ticketing system is well organized, no more barkers will force you to buy tickets with their agency. The modern port features a new seating area, clean restrooms, a cafe, restaurants and pasalubong stores.

The Batangas International Port serves as an inter-island passenger, cargo and vehicle transportation port (RoRo). Most of the passenger vessels offer trips from Batangas going to Boracay, Puerto Galera, Romblon, Puerto Princesa, Coron, Capiz and many more!

Please be advised that at least 30 minutes before departure time is required for passengers to check-in. You need to present your valid ID upon check-in. No ID to present, no check-in. To check in, pre-printed tickets or tickets bought at the port must be presented together with the check-in slips.

Sailcation with 2GO Travel

It's not my first time traveling with 2Go Travel. The first time I traveled by this vessel was in 2019. It was also a trip to Boracay. The second time was a trip to Cebu via MV 2GO Maligaya. The same experience with my previous trips, upon arrival, the crew greeted and assisted me to the room. They're very accommodating and friendly.

Let's talk about their room

We stayed in one of their staterooms. It has a king-sized bed, a bunk bed, a small fridge, fresh towels, electrical outlets, and a hot and cold shower. It can accommodate a family or a group of friends with four members. The room costs P7,376 with 12% VAT which comes with a complimentary breakfast and dinner.

If you are looking for a cheaper one, you can try their cabin room. It comes with 2 bunk beds, fresh towels, electrical outlets and a hot and cold shower. There is also an air-conditioned tourist class and the super value which is the most affordable option, with beds assigned to the open-air deck of the ship.

Below are the room rates:

We had a great sleep while inside the vessel. Thanks for the great weather. The sea was calm and peaceful. We don't experience #byahilo at all. It was a smooth travel experience.  The travel time from Batangas to Boracay is around 11 -12 hours.

Amenities and Facilities

Inside the MV St. Augustine of Hippo, you can find the Horizon Cafe, the Island Fiesta, a chapel, a minimart, a clinic, and a 2Go gear shop. There are also charging and water refilling stations around the vessel. Please make sure to bring your tumbler and never leave your smartphone unattended while charging.

We took our breakfast and dinner at the Horizon Cafe. Their food was affordable and delicious. Aside from that, you are not only paying for great food but also for excellent service. The chef and staff were nice and friendly.

At night, there's a live band at the Island Fiesta that will entertain passengers. You can request a song or jam with them. The Island Fiesta is open 24 hours where you can buy refreshing drinks, alcoholic beverages, snacks and some "pulutan".

Advantages of traveling by sea

1. It is usually cheaper than air travel.

2. You can carry more luggage

3. Pet Friendly

4. Boarding is much quicker

5. Clean rooms

6. Friendly and accommodating staff

Where to stay in Boracay

Upon arrival at the Caticlan port, we headed directly to Belmont Hotel via boat. It's a beachfront hotel located within Boracay Newcoast, featuring 442 well-appointed rooms available, including 6 differently abled rooms. You can choose either their basic and cozy rooms for solo travelers and couples or spacious and luxurious suites for large groups and families.

  1. Thank for this 👍. Airfaire is cheaper (and faster) than the room you have booked ;)
