Boracay Travel Guide For First Time Travelers

Boracay is the most famous white beach destination in the Philippines. It features powdery white sand beaches, turquoise waters, a calm atmosphere and rich biodiversity. This paradise also features several accommodations, from high-end resorts, and transient homes to budget-friendly hostels, you can surely find the perfect hotel within your budget.

On my recent trip to Boracay, I noticed a lot of changes on the island. The long white coastline is overwhelmingly clean. Cabanas, beach beds, bean bags, wooden tables and chairs are gone near the shoreline. Smoking, drinking, eating, massage service, and hawking are also prohibited in the beach area. Aside from that, water activities can be done only on the different sides of the island.

How To Get To Boracay

The fastest way to reach Boracay is by taking a plane. Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific have daily flights from Manila to Kalibo or Caticlan. Travel time is less than 1 hour. Please be advised if you are going to book a flight going to Kalibo, you need to travel 2 hours going to Caticlan.

The cheapest way to reach Boracay is traveling with 2Go Travel. You can book a ticket for as low as P700. Travel time is 9-10 hours. Visit https://travel.2go.com.ph/ or www.phbus.com to book your ticket.

From Caticlan airport, you can take a tricycle going to the jetty port. Special fare is $80 ( good for 4 pax). Travel time is 15 minutes.

The fare going to the island is P25. You also need to pay P100 for the Terminal Fee and Environmental Fee is P75. From the arrival area, you can ride a tricycle or habal-habal going to your hotel.
