Traveling to Boracay with Cebu Pacific

Boracay is a beautiful island that will give you everything you're looking for an ultimate vacation. From cozy hotels and resorts, white sand beaches, amazing food to fun outdoor activities, Boracay will surely give you a lot of reasons why you need to visit this paradise.

This world-renowned beach destination is one of my favorite white sand beach spots in the Philippines. It features picturesque stretch of powdery white sand and crystal clear waters, making it the perfect place to chill and relax. Aside from that, Boracay has one of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in the world. It's no wonder the island attracts thousands of vacationers every year.

As the national government ramps up its support for Philippine's tourism recovery in the "new normal", leisure travel is now allowed but is limited to select destinations and with restrictions. And good thing travelers who want to visit Boracay are no longer require to present RT-PCR negative result. That's why I decided to book a flight from Manila to Caticlan and return ticket via Cebu Pacific.

On this blog, I'm going to share the updated Boracay's travel document requirements and things you should do before boarding a plane.

Getting to the Airport

It's advisable to plan way in advance and check at exactly what time you need to arrive at the airport so you're not late for your flight. The recommended arriving time at the Ninoy International Airport is at least two to three hours before the scheduled departure of a domestic flight. This will give you time to present your travel documents, to print your boarding pass and bag tags, to check in your baggage, go through the security screening checkpoint and be at the departure gate before your scheduled departure time.

Before entering the Airport

Please be advised that all travelers are required to wear a face mask while in the airport, and inflight. At the entrance, contactless temperature check and thermal scans shall be conducted by an airport officer. After that, you need to show your valid ID and flight details. Once it's approved, you'll put all your luggages or bags on an X-ray machine. While your luggage is being screened, you'll walk through a screening machine yourself. If you passed the first screening measure, you can go directly to check in kiosks.

Check in or Bag drop

At the check-in counter, you need to present travel documents like round-trip ticket, valid id, hotel booking confirmation and other travel documents that you may need to be accepted for flight. Once approved, use the check in kiosks available at NAIA 3 to print your boarding pass and bag tag. No worries, it's faster and  easy to use. There are available sanitizers in check-in kiosks and bag drop counters for you to use. Every passenger is allowed one (1) carry-on baggage inside the cabin, with a maximum weight of seven (7) kilograms and dimension of up to 56cm x 36cm x 23cm. This includes most wheeled cabin bags and backpacks

Waiting to Board

The carry on baggage will screen again at the security checkpoint. You must remove your laptop from your luggage or backpack and place it in a separate bin  Once you're past the security checkpoint, you can go to the departure terminal of the airport. Please make sure to double check your boarding pass. You may also check the list of flight departure times and gates on the large screens available at the airport.

Pre-Departure and Boarding

Observe physical distancing at all times by following the seat and floor markers. Listen carefully for the pre boarding annoucement by boarding agents. Once it's ready to board a plane, fall in line and present your boarding pass and valid id.

Inside the Aircraft and While Inflight

Before entering the plan, the cabin crew will spray alcohol on your hands. Proceed to your assigned seat and stow your carry-on baggage to the overhead bin or under your seat. The cabin crew always clean the lavatory and spray it with alcohol while in-flight. The last three rows shall be left empty for isolation area for ill-feeling passengers, if any. It's good to know that all cabin crews are 100% fully vaccinated and they are wearing PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment).

Deplaning and Disembarkation

Deplaning shall be done per row to maintain orderliness and observe physical distancing. I loved this set up because it's more organized. Listen carefully to new deplaning and disembarkation procedure instructions from the cabin crew. Please make sure to throw your garbage in the appropriate garage bin near the exit door during deplaning.

Arrival at the Airport Destination

Please practice wearing your face mask all the time. At the Caticlan Airport, you need to present the Boracay Tourist QR Code and valid id. Once it's approved, get your baggage and you are good to go. Enjoy Boracay!
