As a traveler and nature enthusiast, I had the opportunity to explore the enchanting Labi River and witness its beauty firsthand. From crystal-clear waters to lush greenery, the river offers a serene and peaceful escape from the bustling city life.
The river originates from the Sierra Madre mountain range and flows through the municipalities of Laur, Gabaldon, and Bongabon before emptying into the Pantabangan Reservoir. The river is part of the 5,676-hectare Aurora Memorial Natural Park which can be found along the Nueva Ecija-Baler Road.
Labi river is known for its crystal-clear waters, which are ideal for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The surrounding forests and mountains provide a stunning backdrop, making it the perfect spot for nature photography and outdoor activities. There's no entrance fee to enter the area and the cottage fee is around P500.
However, like many other bodies of water in the country, the Labi River faces threats such as pollution and sedimentation due to agricultural activities and other human activities in the area. The local government and various stakeholders are working together to address these issues and promote sustainable management of the river and its resources. It is essential to raise awareness and promote responsible tourism to preserve its natural beauty for future generations.
