Top 5 best places to visit in Apayao

Apayao is not that famous compared to other provinces in Cordillera Region. It's formerly a part of the old province of Kalinga-Apayao. It borders Cagayan to the north and east, Abra and Ilocos Norte to the west, and Kalinga to the south.

Lussok Crystal Cave

Lussok Crystal Cave

The Lussok Cave is considered one of Abra's gems. It's located in the humble town of Luna, about 15 minutes from the Junction Luna Terminal. It features beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, navigable through an underground river system.

Bayugao Falls

This waterfalls is one of the famous attractions in Apayao. A lot of local tourists visit the waterfalls every summer season. It's nestled deep in the forest of the Marag Valley in Brgy. Turod. 

Dupag Rock Formation

It's a unique limestone rock topography (also known as karst) which is perfect for for hiking and rock-climbing. It features amazing  rock formations and a breathtaking view from the top. This spot is located in the quiet town of Luna.

Manacota Cave and Underground River

Located in the beautiful forest of Marag Valley, Manacota Cave features numerous chambers of crystalline and untouched stalactites and stalagmites. It also hides a 12-meter deep pool of pure, refreshing, cool water perfect for swimming and diving.

Nagan River

Located within Brgy. Lydia, Pudtol, this river is a grand slam awardee of Gawad Kalinga sa Kapaligiran as the "Cleanest Inland Body of Water in the Country". About 45 minutes from Junction Luna, Cagayan.

How to Get to Apayao

From Manila, take a bus like Victory Liner, Baliwag Transit and Florida Bus bound for Tuguegarao. Travel time is around 12 hours and fare is roughly around P900. From Tuguegarao bus terminal, take a tricycle to the bus terminal going to  Junction Luna
