BGC Hostel | A Budget-Friendly Boutique Hotel in Makati City

Travelers are now more practical in choosing the right accommodation. Instead of spending their money in a luxury hotel, they look for an affordable rooms in hostel, motel or even transient home. Well, hotels can really exhaust your travel funds more rapidly than most other vacation expenses.

As a traveler, I always make sure I maximize my budget. I draw up a budget table with possible projections on my travel expenses. For my accommodation, I look for something cheap yet comfy. I give most of my time in travelling outdoor so I rather not spend to much for my room.

I found an affordable competitive hostel near Buendia MRT Station that offered an accommodation for less than P1000. Yes, you read it right, it's less than a thousand pesos and you can stay here for overnight. Let me introduce the BGC Hostel.

Located in the country's financial center Makati City, The BGC Hostel is a boutique hotel and dorm that provides a wide range of services guaranteed to satisfy your needs whether you’re a business guest, an adventurous traveler or backpacker. This hostel features airconditioned rooms, visitors lounge, laundry facilities, internet cafe, etc.

The BGC Hostel is decorated with amazing wall graffiti, colorful chairs, and unique home decors. The eye-catching wall art in the visitor's lounge features famous Philippines' destinations like Luneta Park in Manila, Mayon Volcano in Albay, Rice Terraces in Ifugao, Taal Lake in Batangas and Magellan’s Cross in Cebu City. The area is perfect venue to chat with your friends while watching local and international shows on TV.

FREE WIFI is available in all guest rooms and hostel facilities. Good thing the data connection is a bit fast. I'm able to watch videos on Facebook and Youtube. There's also a computer in the lounge area where you can use for FREE. You can browse websites, play games, chat and even creating documents via Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

I stayed in air-conditioned room sharing for 8 persons. The room has 4 bunk beds with curtains, own electrical outlet and reading lamp. Even the bed is not that big, the mattress and pillow are comfortable. Our room has 2 toilets and 2 shower rooms. There's also available lockers where you can put your important belongings.

BGC Hostel  offers room sharing as low as P500 per bed/ per night. Private rooms starts at P1500 per night.

There's no problem for me staying in a room sharing. It's good to meet here people from different countries. Most of them are friendly and open. The only problem is to share a room with a person who snore. I'm not saying all! Maybe for some, they snore so loud which is very annoying.. What I usually do if I have a snoring roommate, I will go to my bed If I'm already too sleepy or drunk.

The BGC Hostel is 5 minute drive  away from the business center of Makati such as  Fort Bonifacio Global City, the city's shopping malls and other city attractions. You can find a lot of convenience stores that are walking distance. There's also a gas station and 24 hour drug store just across the hostel. On the left side of the BGC Hostel, you can find a mini restaurants that serves Filipino dishes.

If you are looking for low-budget accommodation in Makati, I recommend the BGC Hotel . Aside from their affordable rooms, their staff are friendly and accommodating. Their rooms and toilets are also clean.
