Pahiyas 2015 | The Colorful Festival in Lucban Quezon

Pahiyas Festival is the biggest celebration in the town of Lucban in Quezon province. The festival is annually celebrated every 15th of May in honour of the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador. It is the farmers’ thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of "kiping", fruits, vegetables and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.


Your eyes will be amazed on unique decorations of each houses. The participants are decorated with fresh fruits, vegetables, handicrafts as well the famous kiping which shaped like real leaves or other leaf forms and colored in red, yellow, green, orange and other bright shades.

The festival will start with an early morning mass at San Isidro Labrador Church and followed with saints procession along the streets of Lucban. The awarding for the best Pahiyas Festival House Design and Decors will be held in the afternoon. Winners will get cash and exciting prizes.

There will be also parade of beautiful Queens and Kings wearing costumes which made up of recycle materials, cloth, art materials, etc.

At night, OPM artists and bands will grace the event to serenade the people who join the Pahiyas Festival. There will be also an extravagant firework displays that will give lights and colors in the sky.

Aside from the colorful houses, people are also looking forward on Lucban's authentic delicacies like pansit habhab and longganisang Lucban. Attack these delicious food(s) straight to your mouth without the use of spoon or fork.

How to get to Lucban Quezon

Travel to  Lucban is as easy as 123. Take the bus bound Manila-Lucena. The terminal of the bus is located in Cubao Quezon City. From Lucena, take a jeepney or van going to Lucban. Travel time from Manila to Quezon is 4-5 hours.
