Nestled along the rugged coastline of northern Luzon, Ilocos Sur is a province that captivates the soul with its timeless charm and rich cultural tapestry. This gem was one of the provinces we explored during the #NLEXLakbayNorte adventure. I've curated a list of must-visit tourist spots in Ilocos Sur, each destination weaving its own unique tale within the rich fabric of the province's history and beauty. Calle Crisologo

Calle Crisologo, situated in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, stands out as one of the most enchanting streets in the Philippines, renowned not only in the province but across the country. This popular tourist spot boasts centuries-old stone houses, charming tungsten lamps, and antique cobblestone paving, creating an atmosphere where horse-drawn carriages or kalesas still gracefully traverse. The street itself is exclusively for pedestrians, except for the iconic kalesas used for exploring the historical gems scattered throughout the town. Some ancestral homes have transformed into restaurants, treating visitors to the famous Ilocos bagnet (deep-fried pork belly) or empanadas. Others have been repurposed into inns and souvenir shops, showcasing traditional Inabel linen. The allure of Calle Crisologo is particularly enchanting at night, making it the ideal time to experience its timeless charm.
