Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore is a true wonder of modern architecture and design. Opened in April 2019, it quickly became one of the must-visit destinations in the city-state, attracting tourists and locals alike. Let me share a quick guide on what to expect from this amazing tourist attraction.
From its iconic indoor waterfall to the vast array of shops and restaurants, Jewel offers visitors an experience like no other. The building's stunning dome-shaped facade, which is adorned with over 9,000 glass panels, is a sight to behold, and the verdant indoor forest adds a touch of nature to the airport's otherwise modern design. This stunning attraction is absolutely FREE.
As you step inside, you are greeted by the breathtaking HSBC Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall, which stands at an impressive 40 metres high. The water cascading down creates a mesmerizing spectacle, especially when viewed at night, when a stunning light and sound show takes place.
But Jewel is much more than just a pretty sight. The attraction houses over 280 retail and dining options, ranging from luxury brands to local cuisine. You can shop for high-end fashion, jewellery, and accessories, or indulge in local dishes such as Singaporean laksa and chicken rice.
One of the interesting parts of Jewel is the Canopy Park, located on the topmost level of the attraction. The park is a nature-filled wonderland, with walking trails, sky nets, and mazes to explore. The park also features the Jewel Changi Airport's unique hedge and mirror mazes, which provide visitors with an enchanting, Instagram-worthy experience.
Overall, my experience of Jewel Changi Airport Singapore was nothing short of amazing. From the awe-inspiring indoor waterfall to the vast array of dining and retail options, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. The attraction's perfect blend of nature, architecture, and entertainment makes it a true gem of an attraction, and a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to Singapore.
