Exploring the Wonders of Singapore: Top Things To Do 2023

As someone who has been lucky enough to explore Singapore, I can say without hesitation that it is one of the most remarkable destinations in the world. This vibrant and diverse country is truly a melting pot of cultures, and its unique blend of traditions, cuisines, and architecture makes it a must-visit location for anyone interested in exploring the wonders of Southeast Asia.

In this short travel guide, I'll take you through some of the highlights of my unforgettable experience exploring Singapore, including some of the top attractions, must-try foods, and insider tips for getting the most out of your visit.

Travel Requirements

Visa requirements are not applicable for Filipino passport holders traveling to Singapore. Simply presenting your Philippine passport is sufficient for entry. Additionally, it is recommended to register on etravel.gov.ph at least 72 hours before your arrival or departure from the Philippines.

Money Exchange

To facilitate currency exchange, it is advisable to have your ATM card on hand and withdraw funds from a local ATM in Singapore. If you wish to exchange Philippine peso for Singapore Dollar, it is preferable to do so at a Philippine Money Changer shop rather than at the airport. Alternatively, you can also bring cash to Singapore and exchange it at a local money changer shop there.

Public Transportation ( Train and Bus )

To simplify your train journey from Changi Airport to the city, it is advisable to purchase an EZ-link card. This convenient contactless smart card can be utilized across different modes of transportation in the city, including buses, trains, and certain taxis.

Free Tour via SingapoRewards

Discover the remarkable offering of SingapoRewards, where you can enjoy a complimentary tour of the vibrant city. With a strong dedication to affordability and accessibility, Singapore Rewards ensures that visitors can savor the finest experiences without spending a penny. This exceptional opportunity caters to budget-conscious travelers and those seeking a distinctive and tailored tour encounter. Moreover, you can select activities based on your personal interests, whether it involves marveling at the splendor of Jewel Changi Airport, appreciating the futuristic architecture of Marina Bay, or indulging in delectable local cuisine at a renowned hawker center. Attractions in Singapore

From the iconic Marina Bay Sands to the vibrant Gardens by the Bay, Singapore is packed with stunning attractions that are sure to leave a lasting impression. One of my personal favorites was the Merlion Park, home to the famous half-lion, half-fish statue that has become a symbol of the city. The views of the Marina Bay Sands and the city skyline from this location are breathtaking, and it's the perfect spot for a photo op.

For those interested in history and culture, the National Museum of Singapore is a must-visit. This stunning museum is dedicated to showcasing the history and cultural heritage of Singapore, from the pre-colonial era to modern times. The museum features interactive exhibits, multimedia displays, and a range of artifacts that bring the rich history of Singapore to life.

Another must visit destinations in Singapore is Universal Studio. It is a world-renowned theme park located on Sentosa Island in Singapore. It is part of the larger Resorts World Sentosa complex and is the only Universal Studio theme park in Southeast Asia. The park features a wide range of attractions and experiences that are based on popular movies and TV shows from Universal Studios, including Transformers, Jurassic Park, Shrek, and The Minions. Visitors can enjoy thrilling rides, immersive shows, and interactive experiences that transport them into the worlds of their favorite movies.

Jewel Changi Airport is a multi-use complex that features a wide range of attractions, including gardens, dining options, retail shops, and entertainment facilities. One of the most popular attractions at Jewel Changi Airport is the Rain Vortex, which is the world's tallest indoor waterfall. It is a stunning sight to behold, with water cascading down from a height of 40 meters into a pool at the center of the complex. At night, the waterfall is illuminated with a mesmerizing light show.

Food in Singapore

One of the things that makes Singapore truly unique is its diverse and delicious cuisine. With influences from Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures, Singaporean food is a fusion of flavors and spices that is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

One dish that I would highly recommend trying is the famous Hainanese chicken rice. This dish features succulent steamed chicken served with fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth and a range of flavorful sauces. It's a simple yet delicious dish that perfectly embodies the diverse culinary traditions of Singapore.
