Mactan Island is one of the tourist destinations you should visit in Cebu. It is home to luxurious hotels and resorts, top diving sites, heritage and cultural sites. Aside from that, you can find here the award-winning airport, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
Located in the humble town of Lapu Lapu, Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa is a family-friendly resort on one of the white beaches of Maribago. It is under a 30-minute drive from the airport and 40 minutes away from the historic city of Cebu. The resort features 86 guest rooms that will suit every type of traveler.
We stayed in a Grand Luxe Room with a rustic yet cozy ambiance reminiscent of traditional Filipino homes. It features 2 queen size beds with comfy bedding, a flat-screen tv, tables and chairs, a wooden cabinet, refrigerator and a safety box. It has also a spacious bathroom that features a hot and cold shower, a closet with hangers, fresh white towels, a hair blower, a bathtub, pair of slippers and complimentary toiletries.
The private balcony overlooking the resort's swimming pool was my favorite part of the room. It's surrounded by lush greeneries. I love spending most of my time here while drinking a black coffee. The view from here was very relaxing.
Some of the rooms are decorated with an authentic Filipino accent and all are air-conditioned and have private terraces overlooking the white beach. The room rate starts as low as P3500 good for two pax with free breakfast.
Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa has a private beach with sun loungers. It has shallow water perfect for young kids, and a beautiful sea view that complements wonderfully fine white sands. For those who are not into the beach, the hotel has a large Instagram-worthy swimming pool. It's a great spot to spend your free time with your loved ones, family and friends.
Near the swimming pool area is a restaurant that offers mouthwatering local and international dishes. We tried some of their best-sellers like Sesame Grilled Salmon, Grilled Pepper Sirloin Steak with Mushroom and Vegetables Ragout and Sizzling Gambas Ala Michael.
At night, you can go to the resort's rooftop terraces/cocktail lounges to enjoy your favorite refreshing juices or alcoholic beverages. It is an open-air terrace with amazing views over the Cebu City and Mactan Island skyline. It's truly an Insta-worthy drinking venue.
