Coron Palawan in the New Normal ( Travel Requirements )

If you are planning to visit Coron, Palawan anytime soon, let me share a comprehensive guide before you travel to this beautiful island. In this blog, I'll be sharing details about when and where to get a swab test, where to book your flights,  where to stay in Coron, where to arrange your tour, and how to get a QR code.

Travel Requirements

1.    Negative RT-PCR Test Result from a DOH accredited laboratory or a Negative Saliva Test Result from PHILIPPINE RED CROSS, taken 72 hours before the flight/sea travel from the time and date collected.

2.    Roundtrip Fight Details

3.    Confirmed hotel booking with DOT accredited accommodations

4.    Confirmed booking with a licensed tour or diving service

5.    QR CODE from www.corontourism.ph

Get Tested for Covid 19

The LGU of Coron requires domestic tourists to provide a Negative RT-PCR Test Result from a DOH accredited laboratory or a Negative Saliva Test Result from PHILIPPINE RED CROSS conducted 48-72 hours before their flight. Don't forget to get a copy of the official receipt of your swab test.

If you are looking for a cheap swab test, you may apply for the Tourism Promotion Board ( TPB) subsidized swab test for as low as P750. This subsidized program is for only domestic tourists only. You can submit your application HERE. For a more comprehensive guide about this 50% COVID 19 RT-PCR test subsidy, you may check it HERE.

Please don't submit fake negative swab test results. You will only ruin the livelihood of the locals. Aside from that, you will be charged with violation of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

Secure your flights to Coron Palawan ( Manila to Busuanga and vice versa )

The airline/ferry ticket that you should be provided is a return ticket ( will not accept a one-way ticket for domestic tourists). It's optional to book the ticket before or after you get the negative swab test result. You need to make sure your flight schedule should be within 72 hours from the time you took your RT-PCR/Saliva test (not when you received the result).

Secure Your Hotel Booking

Unlike before, you can no longer book any hotel or resort in Coron if they are not DOT accredited accommodations. You will need to secure a hotel reservation at an accredited accommodation. You may visit https://corontourism.ph/where-to-stay// to check the list of accredited resorts in Coron.

For budget-friendly accommodation, you might want to check Luis Bay Traveler's Lodge and Mountain Garden View. If you are looking for first-rate accommodation in Coron Town, you may choose the Two Seasons Coron Bayside Hotel.

Secure Your Tour

An additional requirement to enter Coron is a confirmed booking with a licensed tour. You may visit https://corontourism.ph/places-to-visit/ to check the list of accredited travel agencies or tour operators in Coron. We got our tour from  JY Travel and Tours Coron Palawan.
