Kwentong Dagat : A Vegan Beach Resort In Liw-Liwa Zambales

The simple bario of Liw-liwa is one of the famous surfing spots in the province of Zambales. Its laid-back, off-beat vibes and amazing waves attract a lot of travelers from around the world. This small coastal community is truly a perfect sanctuary for backpackers, wanderlust, beach lovers and surfing enthusiasts.

In our recent trip to Liw-liwa, we found a newly-opened resort called Kwentong Dagat. It's the first Vegan Beach Resort in Zambales! Their food menu is 100% powered by plants. Yes, you read it right! They serve 100% plant based dishes. Shout out to all of my Vegan friends!

Let's talk about first their instagram-worthy accommodation. Currently, the resort has 4 Bali inspired Nipa Hut Cottages. The cabin is combination of traditional Filipino style and Balinese houses. Inside the room are 3 double-sized beds which can accommodate up to 6 persons. All cabins are airconditioned and each bed comes with clean beddings.

Room Rates:

Weekday rate (Mon-Thur): P4,000.00 per night
Weekend rate (Fri-Sun): P4,800.00 per night

For those who enjoy camping by the beach, they have space that you can rent. Each space is P250.00 per night. It's advisable to pitch your tent under the tall Agoho trees. It will give you all the shades that you needed compared to the beach area which is too hot during summer.

When it comes to their amenities, Kwentong dagat has an outdoor kitchen where you can cook your own food (kitchen tools and utensils are available), a summerhouse where you can drink or eat and a communal bathrooms if you want to have a quick rinse or a nice shower.

The beach area features fine grayish sand, blue waters and inviting waves. You can swim, walk or just sit in the sand while watching the Liw- Liwa sunset. Surfing boards are available around the area if you want to play with the big waves.

Let's now talk about their food. If you are a Vegan, you would surely love this place. The resort offers a lot of vegan recipes. At first, I don't know that Kwentong Dagat only offers vegan dishes. They served fish tuna, sausage and corned beef. I thought these are meat but they are not. The food looks like meat, tastes like meat, but is actually vegan.

My friends and I are not Vegan but we really enjoyed their food. One of my faves is Labong sa Gata. It's very flavorful. Other vegan dishes that you might conside are Sweet and Sour Vegan Pork, Escabeche, Terong Balado, Bicol Express, Tortang Talong, and Vegan Corned Beef. aAl vegan set meals are priced at P200.00 per meal per person.Thank you Alex for these mouth watering and healthy vegan recipes that you prepared for my team.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of a city life, this resort is definitely for you. It's a nice place where you can spend your vacation best. We had no expectations for Kwentong Dagat but just to relax and chill .Wish we could have stayed longer so we could enjoy the resort more. I highly recommend this resort.
