AirTrav: The Newest Air Transportation For Island Destinations

AirTrav is the newest air transportation in the country that transport people from Manila to Clark in 25 minutes and from Manila to Puerto Galera in 40 minutes.

Being stuck in traffic is just a waste of time. Sometimes, I spend more than two hours going to Clark, Pampanga and five hours going to Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. Good thing there's a company like AirTrav that offers services for quicker travel.

AirTrav PH travels dialy except on Tuesday from Manila-Clark-Manila and Manila-Puerto Galera-Manila. They also offer chartered flights.

During the launching event, we we're able to see up-close the Cessna Grand Caravan 208, the largest single engine airplane ever produced by Cessna. It's spacious, which can seat eight passengers comfortably plus their luggage and personal items.

The AirTrav Philippines' terminal is located at Realship Yachts (beside Harbour Square) CCP Complex Terminal B, Roxas Blvd., Manila.

Fare from Manila to Clark is Php4,500 (one way) and Manila to Puerto Galera is Php6,000 (one way).

AirTrav Corp. has an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines and a non-scheduled domestic carrier certificate from the Civil Aeronautics Board, operates out of its own hangar located at the Manila International Airport in Pasay City, flying the Robinson R-44 Raven II and the Cessna Grand Caravan Ex Amphibian.

The Robinsons R44, which was made in Torrance, United States, can seat up to three passengers comfortably. It can fly up to 300 nautical miles, which means three hours without refueling.

AirTrav PH helicopter pilots undergo factory training directly at Robinson's manufacturing facility in the United States. For the seaplane pilots, they are trained by flight Safety Australia.

Aside from this, the aircraft and pilots are insured by the country's premier insurance firm, Pioneer Insurance and Surety Corp., for its airframe, passengers, cargo and crew.

In 2015, AirTrav teamed up with ride hailing app Uber to launch the first and only UBERCHOPPER service in the Philippines. With Uber's extensive network, AirTrav was able to roll out an on-demande helicopter service withing Metro Manila.

AirTrav PH is also the designated helicopter tour provider for the annual Philippine Intetnational Hot Air Baloon Festival held at Clark, Pampanga. AirTrav also provides VIP helicopter transfers, city tours, marriage proposals and flower droppings. Medical evacuatio, search and rescue, and disaster response are also offered conjuction with the Philippine Red Cross.
