Pahiyas Festival 2017 | The Colorful Festival in Quezon

Pahiyas Festival is one of the grandest event in the province of  Quezon and one of the most awaited colorful festival in the Philippines. It's held every 15th of May in the town of Lucban, which is honor of San Isidro Labrador. This celebration is the farmer’s thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of KIPING (colorful rice wafers), fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.


On May 15, there will be a morning mass to be held at San Isidro Labrador Church then to be followed with San Isidro Procession. Tourists can expect grand parade of colorful floats, marching bands, street dancers, art and photo exhibit, concerts, etc during the whole day event.




One of the highlights is the Pahiyas Festival House Design and Decors contest. Participants decorated their house with fruits, vegetables, handicrafts and  kiping, which are made of rice wafers, often shaped like leaves.

The Pahiyas Festival 2017 will fall on Monday.



How to get to Lucban Quezon
  • Take bus bound Manila-Calamba-Lucban Route or Manile-Lucena-Lucban Route. Bus terminals are located in Cubao, Quezon City.
  • From Lucena Grand Central, take a lucban bound jeepney or van. Travel Time from Manila to Lucban takes 4-5 hours. 

For private car, you may take south Luzon Express way (SLEX) and exit to Calamba Laguna Exit. You will pass the towns of Calamba, Cavinti, Pagsanjan, Sta Cruz, Pila, Los Banos and Victoria.
