Other activities include the MassKara Queen beauty pageant, musical concerts, drum and bugle corps competitions, carnivals,  food festivals, sports events,  agriculture-trade fairs, garden shows, and other special events.

The Street Dancing is divided into two categories; the schools division and the barangays.

Meanwhile, the name of the festival is derived from the words ‘mass’ for many, and ‘kara’, a local word that translated to ‘face’. Masskara Festival first began during a period of crisis where accident MV Doña Paz of Sulpicio Lines caught fire and sank, killing of close to 700 people. To uplift the spirit of the people, local artists of Bacolod created an event, which was the birth of what is now known as the MassKara Festival.
