Manila to Baler with Joy Bus (Review)

For a long hour of travel, it's advisable to ride in a big bus with an air conditioner, a comfy chair and has its own CR. It's good to arrive at your favorite destination with good sleep or without complaints about the bus.

Genesis Transport Service Inc. (GTSI) offers a deluxe bus that will provide its passengers a different travel experience. This bus is called JoyBus. It is the executive coach of Genesis, and promises to give its passengers a “joy ride,” convenience and safety ride.

Travel time to Baler Aurora will take 6-7 hours for a regular bus. I decided to choose Joy Bus of Genesis instead of other local bus companies. I heard a lot of good reviews from my friends and travel bloggers about JoyBus. At first, my plan was to book online via iWantSeats, a real-time bus booking in the Philippines. Since my house is 15 minutes away from the terminal of Genesis, I decided to go directly to their office in Cubao, Quezon City to purchase tickets. The fare is Php700. Cubao to Baler has an hour-interval trip.

JoyBus is equipped with 28 comfy chairs, a toilet, LCD tv and has wi-fi service where you can connect to the Internet while on the road. The bus has its own stewardess. According to some of the articles online, these stewardesses graduated from tourism-related courses and underwent training in food and beverage handling.

The chair was big. It's like a lazy chair that provides real comfort to your back. It's really comfortable and relaxing. There's a big space on each chair where I can stretch my feet all the time. Other perks on this bus include a blanket, biscuits and bottled water.

From Manila to Baler, it only took 5 1/2 hours. Most of us had a great sleep. We don't feel tired even if it's a long trip. Please be advised to bring a jacket or sweater because it's really cold inside.
