SB Finance and CCA Manila Open More Doors for Aspiring Chefs Through Flexible Education Financing

For many aspiring chefs, the journey to a successful culinary career starts with passion. However, the cost of quality education often becomes a major hurdle. To help bridge this gap, SB Finance has partnered with the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA Manila) and the Asian School of Hospitality Arts (ASHA) to make world-class culinary and hospitality education more accessible to Filipinos.

SB Finance and Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) Manila launched the Education Assistance Program which aims to give aspiring culinary and hospitality professionals a more flexible way to finance their education through a cooking event with the media. Present during the event are (from L-R) SB Finance Head of Personal Loan and OR/CR for Cash Sales and Distribution Ron Romo, CCA Manila Business Development Manager Chamen Manalo, Sales and Marketing Manager May Pacia, Baking and Pastry Chef Instructor Chef Dang Adrias, CEO Badjie Trinidad, SB Finance President and CEO Abigail Dans-Casanova, CCA Manila PR and Communications Director Bea Trinidad, SB Finance Chief Business Officer Gerard Betita, and Business Development Head Patrick Felizardo.

The collaboration introduces SB Finance's Education Assistance Program, a financing solution designed for aspiring chefs, hospitality professionals, entrepreneurs, career shifters, as well as parents and family members who want to support a student's education. The program aims to remove financial barriers by allowing students to focus on learning instead of worrying about paying tuition fees in one lump sum.

Through the program, qualified applicants can finance up to the full amount of their tuition without the need for collateral, subject to credit evaluation and approval. Borrowers can also choose flexible repayment terms of 12, 18, 24, or 36 months, making quality education more manageable. To make enrollment even more convenient, approved loan proceeds are paid directly to CCA Manila for tuition, streamlining the entire process.

Students who enroll through the Education Assistance Program will also enjoy an exclusive tuition fee discount from CCA Manila, making the opportunity even more affordable for those pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.

Investing in Skills That Build Careers

The demand for skilled culinary and hospitality professionals continues to grow both in the Philippines and overseas. Beyond working in restaurants and hotels, many graduates are pursuing entrepreneurial ventures by opening cafés, bakeries, restaurants, catering businesses, and other food-related enterprises.

For more than 30 years, CCA Manila and ASHA have built a reputation for producing highly skilled graduates who have gone on to become award-winning chefs, restaurateurs, hotel executives, hospitality professionals, and successful food entrepreneurs around the world.

"Education is one of the most meaningful investments anyone can make, but financial barriers often prevent people from pursuing opportunities that can change their lives," said Ron Romo, Head of Personal Loan and OR/CR for Cash Sales and Distribution at SB Finance. "Through this partnership with CCA, we're making it easier for more Filipinos to pursue their passion, develop valuable skills, and build meaningful careers in the culinary industry."

CCA Manila CEO Badjie Trinidad echoed the same vision, emphasizing that talent should never be limited by financial circumstances.

"At CCA, we've always believed that talent should never be limited by financial capacity. This partnership with SB Finance allows more aspiring chefs and future food entrepreneurs to access quality culinary education and confidently pursue careers they are passionate about."

Supporting Filipino Families

Unlike traditional student loan programs, SB Finance's Education Assistance Program also allows parents, guardians, and family members to apply for financing on behalf of a student. This gives Filipino families greater flexibility in investing in their children's education while easing the financial burden of tuition payments.

Creating Opportunities Beyond Financing

The partnership reflects SB Finance's broader mission of supporting Filipinos through life's important milestones—from education and healthcare to mobility and personal aspirations.

"Financing should do more than provide access to funds. It should create opportunities," said Patrick Felizardo, Business Development Head of SB Finance. "When we help someone gain an education, we're not simply financing tuition. We're helping build careers, strengthen families, and contribute to the country's future workforce."

This latest initiative also expands SB Finance's growing portfolio of purpose-driven financing programs, complementing its existing efforts in healthcare, electric mobility, and employee financial wellness.

As industries continue to evolve and demand for specialized skills increases, the partnership between SB Finance, CCA Manila, and ASHA aims to inspire more Filipinos to pursue lifelong learning and turn their passion into a rewarding profession.

With the Education Assistance Program now available, aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals have one less obstacle standing between their dreams and a successful career.
