The Global Travel Meet 2025, held at the iconic World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, brought together leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders from the global tourism industry in a highly successful event that positioned Malaysia as “the hub where the world meets.” The event reinforced the nation’s standing as a leading international destination and a driving force in shaping the future of global tourism.
This year’s Global Travel Meet gathered over 600 qualified buyers from ASEAN, Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, along with 400 Malaysian sellers showcasing a diverse range of tourism products and services. In addition, 100 local and international media representatives participated, highlighting the event’s strong global presence and media engagement.
The program was thoughtfully designed to foster strategic collaboration and business growth through impactful B2B sessions and insightful tourism seminars. These activities created valuable opportunities for partnerships, innovation, and long-term cooperation within the tourism sector.
Distinguished guests at the event included YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Secretary General of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akhbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and YBhg. Dato' Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia. Their presence underscored the government’s continued commitment to supporting the growth and advancement of Malaysia’s tourism industry.
Throughout the venue, numerous booths from hotels, resorts, airlines, and travel agencies showcased their offerings, actively engaging in networking sessions to explore potential collaborations and business opportunities.

The highlight of the event was the Gala Dinner, held at the Sunway Resort, where attendees were captivated by spectacular performances from local artists. Through traditional dance and music, they beautifully shared Malaysia’s rich culture, heritage, and history. The evening also featured the official presentation of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign video and calendar of events, reinforcing Malaysia’s image as a diverse and vibrant destination. The night concluded with a strong message of unity and collaboration, as the Minister encouraged both domestic and international stakeholders to work together in promoting Malaysia as a world-class travel destination.
As part of the Global Travel Meet 2025, participants — including buyers, sellers, and media representatives — also joined post-event familiarization tours across various destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya, Sabah, Perak, Melaka and other amazing destinations in Malaysia. These immersive tours offered a firsthand experience of Malaysia’s must-visit attractions, culinary delights, history, culture, and local traditions, showcasing the best that each destination has to offer.
