I stayed in one of their mixed dormitories and the cost is only Php350 or 150.000VND / night via Booking.com . Good thing each bank bed is spacious. It's also comfy and clean. Each bed has one pillow, blanket, storage, and a mini lamp. Their locker is big enough to keep a carry-on piece of luggage. No worries, your valuable things are safe with their smart lockers. They also have Deluxe rooms that can accommodate two to three pax.
Bathrooms and toilets are separated from our room. It comes with hot and cold showers, shampoo and liquid soap. A hair blower is also available. A fresh towel is per request with a deposit of 50.000VND.
If you want to chill and relax, their Instaworthy pool is the place to be. Near the pool is a mini bar where you can buy refreshing drinks, coffee and alcoholic beverages. If you need to smoke, there's a particular area where you can freely do it.
Each room rate comes with a complimentary buffet breakfast. They serve bread, stir fry noodles, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, fruits, vegetables and unlimited coffee and juices.
At night, the hostel becomes fun and lively. They offer unlimited beer at no cost. Yes, it is absolutely free from 7PM to 8PM. The party will end at 10PM.
In the morning, everyone can join a free walk tour. It's guided by the locals and they will guide you to different food establishments and tourist spots near the hostel. It's fun to join this activity. Furthermore, you will gain knowledge about Vietnamese delicacies, culture and history.
The waiters and receptionists are very friendly and accommodating. They are available 24/7. They are knowledgeable about several destinations. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Hanoi Buffalo Hostel. It was comfy to stay in their room and the people were friendly. Additionally, they offer a free buffet breakfast and Unlimited beer. You wi truly save money on this hostel. It's highly recommended for solo travelers and budget travelers.
How to get to Hanoi
There are many ways to reach Hanoi from the Noi Bai International Airport. You can take a bus, grab car, and taxi. If you are planning to take a taxi, you should take Mai Linh or G7 taxi. Please remember to ask for the price before getting in the car. The cost should be from 100.000VND to 200.000VND ( Php250 - Php500) depending on the location of your chosen accommodation. The fare of grab car is the most expensive option to reach Hanoi ( especially during rush hours). The taxi fare cost will be around 300.000VND to 500.000VND (Php800-Php1000)
If you are planning to take a bus, please ask first the hotel for the bus number that you should ride. The bus stop is just on the right side of the terminal exit. Hanoi city buses number 7 and 17 connect Noi Bai Airport with Hanoi city center. Buses run every 15-20 minutes from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Hanoi Airport Bus 86 is the best public transportation option for tourists traveling from Hanoi Airport to the city center. The bus is able to accommodate 60 passengers and the fare is around 30.000VND (Php70).
It's recommended to reserve an airport pick-up through the hotel or agency. Make sure to send your flight number and arrival time so the driver will wait there to take you to your booked hotel. Airport transfer is around 300.000VND (Php700) / car/way. Whether you are alone or have a total of four (4), the fare will remain the same. It cost 4-5 seats per private car, not per person.
