5 Benefits of Online Gaming

Aside from traveling, playing online games is another fun activity that I love to do. if there's no work or travel, I spend a lot of time playing video games. It's a form of entertainment that helps me to relieve stress and to relax during my rest day. Maybe some of you will agree that playing online games can be a great way to deal with stress and anxiety. It also provides a lot of surprising benefits for every gamer when playing in moderation.

It's a stress reliever

As we are struggling with boredom due to the pandemic situation, online gaming is a great option to help you to forget the bad news about Covid 19. It's a stress buster after a long and stressful day at work. The relaxing effect of playing online games can increase the “feel-good” hormones while playing your favorite game. Trust me, online gaming can help you be happier, especially at the end of a long and tiring day. As per forbes.com, in an online poll in America, over 40% said online gaming improves emotional well-being. It's one of the serious benefits of online gaming, especially for mental health.

A form of entertainment

Gaming is considered an effective form of entertainment. There are lots of available online games that you can play alone or with friends. You can play games with your internet-enabled device whenever, wherever you go. Every time I get stuck in traffic, I play online games with my smartphone. One of my favorite games is Snakeland Mobile Game from plays.org. It is a modern and mobile-friendly version of the game snake with beautiful graphics. I enjoyed this game because it's fun and easy to play. And hey, the snake is the game we know and love. It's one of the best classic games of all time. Check out plays.org to see its over 100 free games.

To help you make friends

In contrast to some parents, most gamers see online games as a social activity. It creates a common ground for gamers to make friends; allow them to hang out; and build a strong foundation for friendship. It also promotes building a positive relationship and camaraderie among gamers. When I was in college, I loved playing Dota after class. My friends and I were always in the computer shop to compete with other gamers. It's a friendly game but whoever wins the game will get the pot money. That's easy money if you play hard and work with your colleagues.

Playing while learning

Aside from massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) and strategy games, there are several interactive online games for learning. Some of these are free educational games that are perfect for kids, students, teenagers and even for old adults. I enjoyed playing word puzzle games, spelling tests and quizzes, typing speed tests, jigsaw puzzles and other educational games available online. I'm a competitive student when I was young and these online games helped me to improve my vocabulary. These online games also serve as my mental exercise to improve my memory and problem-solving skills.

To inspire you to become better

Just like other regular sports, you either win or lose. If you win in every game, that's good for you. But if you lose, just keep trying until you win. Sometimes it's really frustrating every time you lose a game especially if you are the reason why your team loses. You need to learn from your mistakes and use this as a tool to improve and to be a better gamer. Remember, no one is immune to making mistakes. Learning from your mistakes will help you to reach the goal. Keep going and stay focus.
