The province of Ifugao is always connected to the famous Banaue Rice Terraces located in the mountainous area of Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. It has 5 popular stunning rice terraces that are shaped like of an amphitheater. 


If you are planning to visit Ifugao, here are some of the must visit tourist destinations in the province.

Batad Rice Terraces 

Batad Rice Terraces is one of the famous tourist spots in the Philippines. The amazing structure of this ricefield will surely impress every tourist who will visit the place. There is a small village at Batad that has a few accommodation options but most people stay in the nearby town of Banaue and travel to Batad for the day.


Mt. Napulauan

Mt. Napulauan is a great hiking destination for those who who climb a mountain. Some mountaineers said that this mountain is mystical. With its mossy forest trail, every hiker will surely mesmerize each view going to summit. It will take 9 hours to reach the summit. 

Tappiyah Falls

The Tappiyah Falls is a perfect gateway for those who want to chase waterfalls. This 230 feet waterfalls is very pleasing to the eyes. It would surely relax you after a long trek in the stunning  Batad Rice Terraces. Tappiyah Falls is truly a  great place to enjoy especially during summer.

Hungduan Rice Terraces

Hungduan Rice Terraces is located in the humble town of Hungduan. Same like with Batad Rice Terraces and Ifugao Rice Terraces, Hungduan Rice Terraces has also jaw dropping rice terraces and stunning villages. I recommend to visit this tourist spot during the Hungduan festival.

Mayoyao Rice Terraces

I think Mayoyao Rice Terraces is the least visited rice among the 5 rice terraces in the province of Ifugao. It's located in Mayoyao, around 2 hour ride to the east of Banaue. 

Kiangan Shrine

Aside from the beautiful natural structures, Ifugao has also man made structure like the Kiangan Shrine, also known as the Yamashita Shrine. It's a historical tourist spot in the province which commemorates the surrender the top commander of Japanese Imperial Army in the Philippines, General Tomoyuki Yamashita.

Bintakan and Nah-toban Caves

If you want a different adventure, try the caving activity in Bintakan and Nah-toban Caves. It has three major chambers where you can see up close various stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes and sizes.

Bogyah Hot Spring

Not all of us are not fond to the hot spring, but for some foreigners, this is a great place to relax. It's about 30 minutes trek from the accommodation in Hungduan. Don't forget to dip your body in the relaxing hot water. 

Mt. Amuyao

Mt. Amuyao is another interesting mountain destination in Ifugao. It's the highest peak in the Mountain Province and the fourth highest in Luzon. At the summit, expect a breathtaking view of high mountains of the Cordilleras to the west, and the Sierra Madre to the east.

How to Get to Ifugao: From Manila, take a Ohayami bus in Sampaloc or Coda Lines in Quezon City bound for Ifugao.  The bus leaves Manila from 8PM to 10PM.
