Christmas is truly the season of giving. Not only giving gifts but doing an act of kindness to your family and friends and even to strangers. There are so many genuine ways to show your kindness to others and giving back this holiday season. It could be cooking for your family, by helping out a person carry his shopping bags, buying a burger for a stranger or by assisting an old man/woman to cross the street.

When’s the last time you did something kind for a stranger?

Growing up, my parents love to drink coffee, so it was only a natural thing for me to like to drink coffee. I love coffee so much! I can't start my day without coffee. Most of the time, you would see me in the coffee shop doing some of my online tasks while drinking a cup of hot coffee. This holiday season, I did my fair share of doing acts of kindness by sharing coffee with my officemates. It may be a simple act for others, but giving a coffee to your coworkers will brighten their day.

To all travelers out there, if we all do one random act of kindness daily, a lot of people could be happy. Even a small act of kindness can make a big difference. I also believe that making other people happy will make you happy too.

Speaking of helping to others, PayMaya encourages you to not just give back but also pay it forward to others. They have this campaign called PayMaya It Forward, a social movement initiative aiming to inspire the Filipinos to “pay it forward” this holiday season by doing random acts of kindness. This actually what inspired me to share coffee with my officemates.

As a company, PayMaya Philippines’ own act of kindness is to match the amount of cashback given to their users in the ongoing 1-10-100 QR promo, and donate it to their chosen beneficiary, Gawad Kalinga's School for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED).

What is Gawad Kalinga-SEED?

SEED Philippines provides an education-based solution to rural development. It is the first school for social entrepreneurship for the poor which serve as a model for rural development through education and hands-on learning mentored by an international team of social entrepreneurs and innovators. SEED prepares students to create social enterprises that will develop rural areas through rural job and wealth creation. It serves as a pilot that will be replicated to provide a quality education to thousands in communities across the Philippines.

If you will use PayMaya to buy item(s) on PayMaya's partner merchants from December 16 to 31, 2019, you will receive 1%, 10% or 100% cashback (capped at P500) each time you shop, as part of PayMaya’s current QR promo (https://www.paymaya.com/deals/qr-promos/scan-to-pay-and-get-1-10-100-percent-cashback-2019-dec).

PayMaya will then match this cashback and donate it to Gawad Kalinga-SEED after the end of the program period. An SMS confirmation will be sent to the PayMaya user each time a cashback is matched, for donation to Gawad Kalinga-SEED.
