How to Get to Batanes


The only way to reach Batanes from mainland Luzon is by air. Philippine Airlines offer flights from Manila (NAIA) and Clark International Airport in Pampanga to Basco Airport, the capital of Batanes. The travel time from Manila  to Basco will take take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. You can also fly from Tuguegarao, Cagayan to Basco, Batanes via SkyPasada.



How Much is the Airfare to Batanes?


Manila to Basco (One-way): ₱8,000 – ₱15,000 (Regular rate) 

Clark to Basco (One-way): ₱6,000 – ₱10,000

Cagayan to Basco ( One-way): Around ₱5,000 

Seat sales and promos: As low as ₱3,000 – ₱4,000 if booked in advance


Tip: Book early and travel during dry season (March to May) for better weather and fewer canceled flights.

Top Things to Know Before You Go

No ATM in Sabtang or Itbayat – Bring enough cash. There are only limited ATMs in Basco (and they sometimes run out of money).


Internet is available but slow – Most accommodations offer WiFi, but don’t expect fast speeds.
