Traveling with a Realme 3

As a travel blogger, I get asked about using smartphones when I travel. It's not only a device that you can use for calling, texting, and using internet search engines, the smartphone is also the best alternative camera to a DSLR. Most phone cameras ( just like my new smartphone) are now very good at taking quality shots. Sometimes, I prefer to shoot with a smartphone rather than a DSLR camera.

Compared to the traditional cameras, smartphones are very handy and easy to use when capturing precious moments. Aside from the convenience, you can easily edit your photos and videos and instantly shares to your Facebook or Instagram account. This is one of the best advantages of the smartphone, you are always connected to all your favorite social networks and it will enable you to use Internet search engines on the move.

Currently, I'm using a Realme smartphone. This is the latest phone brand in the Philippines which was officially launched in 2018. It is an emerging smartphone brand which specializes in providing high quality smartphones.

During my travel in Nagpatong Rock in Rizal, Gigantes Islands in Iloilo, Malalison Island in Antique, Olangapo and Guimaras, I used the Realme 3 for documenting my travel adventures. The Realme 3 is one of the latest budget-friendly smartphones in the market together with the Realme 3 Pro (a smartphone perfect for gaming). Inside the box, the phone comes with a travel adapter, a microUSB cable, warranty card, manuals, quick guide, sim eject tool and clear case.

Let's talk about the appearance of the phone. I have the dynamic blue color with 3GB + 32GB storage which is expandable up to 256GB. This phone looks premium and stylish. Its back panel is made up of polycarbonate material with a glossy finish. It features 6.22-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) display topped with Gorilla Glass 3 which keeps it protected against drops.

The sim card  / microSD card slot and volume keys are located on the left side while the power button key is on the right side of  the phone. The loudspeaker, a headphone jack, built-in microphone and micro USB port ca be found at the bottom part of the device.

How about the camera? The Realme 3 features a dual rear camera that captures at 13MP+2MP, and features Nightscape mode, Chroma Boost, Hybrid HDR, and Portrait Mode. If there's too much of light exposure, I use the Chroma Boost. It improves shots with high contract, ensuring all areas of the photo are vivid and detailed. It's like an auto photo enhancement. The only thing I don't like about the Chroma Boost is you can't take picture continuously. You need to wait for a couple of seconds before you can take another shot.

For the low light conditions, you can use the Nightscape mode. It allows you to take blur-free, handheld shots in low-lit environments.

Realme 3 also features AI front camera which captures at 13MP, and features AI Beautification, HDR, and AI Facial Unlock. I also like its digital "bokeh" effect. It's like a shot from a DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Aside from the camera, what I like about the Realme 3 is the battery. It has a battery capacity of  4,230mAh battery with intelligent power saving functions. Would you believe I was able to use my the Realme 3 for more than 2 days (with minimal internet and gaming)? Yes, it has a good battery performance.

Overall, I like the Realme 3. Attractive design, high-end specifications, best battery life and budget friendly smartphone, you can find all these features on this phone.

Realme 3's official retail price is at P6,990 for the 3GB/32GB model all the way up to P7,990 (64GB) and P9,990 SRP (4+64GB). It is available in Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue. To get more updates, visit their Realme's Facebook Page or website at www.realme.com/ph/
