A lot of mountaineers said that Mt Ulap is like a mini Mt. Ugo. Both mountains feature pine and grassland ridges with stunning views of the mountains. Some of the trails are covered with trees (Pine trees) and most are exposed grassland slopes. Near the summit, there're cows around the area enjoying the fresh grass.

Mt. Manalmon is one of the popular mountain destinations in Bulacan. Its major jump-off point is located in Sitio Madlum, Brgy. Sibul, San Miguel. Mountaineers consider Mt. Manalmon as a minor climb with a a difficulty of 2/9 and trail class 1-2. It's 160 meters above sea level which features Madlum Cave and River and views of neighboring mountains.

Mt. Manalmon is part of the historical Biak-na-Bato National Park in San Miguel, Bulacan. You will be amazed on different natural wonders and rock formations along the way going to the summit.

Get ready for the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition 2016 that will start on February 13, 2016 and the final show as  well the announcement of winners will be on March 19, 2016 at the Seaside Area of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Last year winner was Royal Pyrotechnie of Canada beating Pyrotex Fireworx Ltd. of United Kingdom. Who do you think will win this year's competition.

The 7th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition Schedule

Aside from Valentines Day, the month of February is also the celebration of Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It gathers aviators from the Philippines and the world. The event will be held on February 11-14, 2016 in Clark, Pampanga.

This annual balloon festival features lots of hot air balloon in different forms, aerobatics, skydiving, paragliding, remote control aircraft, kite flying and other interesting outdoor activities.

Baler is a popular surfing destination in the Philippines. It was identified by Google in 2009 as topping the list of beach destinations in the country. It was described by Yahoo! Southeast Asia in March 2013 as one of the "top surf spots" in the Philippines (source WIKIPEDIA).

My college friends are always asking me if  we can visit Baler. Honestly, Baler is my last option for our out of town trips. The first time I visited Baler, I'm not impressed. It's just like an ordinary beach. The sand is not pure and white. The water is not clear compare to white beaches in the north ( Like in Zambales and Ilocos Norte).

Recently, our travel group, The Road Trippers, celebrated our annual Christmas party in an ultra-comfy serviced boutique residences, the KL Tower Serviced Residences.

On January 9, the City of Manila will be busy again for their annual celebration of "Feast of the Black Nazarene" also known as "Pista ng Quiapo." It's held every 9th of January in Quaipo Church. Million of devotees and pilgrims flock in the church and join the procession of the Black Nazarene to commemorate the Translacion."

Feast of the Black Nazarene 2016 Schedule of Activities

Every year, the "Summer Capital of the Philippines" celebrates their biggest festival called Panagbenga. It's a flower event that takes place in Baguio City which features Street Dancing Parade, Float Parade, Fireworks Display and a lot of exciting activities.

Panagbenga Festival is celebrated every first week of February until the end of the month. Most of the time, the celebration will continue until the first week of the following month (March).  The main event will showcase magnificent display of floats which are fully decorated with fresh and beautiful flowers and street dancing wherein participants are wearing colorful costumes while dancing with the beat of the drums.

Minalungao National Park is easy to reach. The park is located at Brgy. Minalungao, Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija. Travel time from Manila to park is more than 3 hours.

Itinerary to Minalungao National Park

5: 00AM – ETD of Five Star bus bound to Gapan (Bucana). The bus terminal is located in Cubao, Quezon City. Fare is 150Php. Travel time is around 2 - 3 hours. 

7:30:00AM – ETA in Gapan, rent a tricycle going to Minalungao National Park for round trip for Php600-Php700. The tric will pass through the municipality of General Tinio popularly known as Papaya. Travel time is more than an hour.

Nueva Ecija is considered the main rice growing province in the country and often referred as the “Rice Bowl of the Philippines. Aside from the rice fields, the province has a new tourist destination that features pristine water, rock formations, cave and some amazing natural attractions. It's called Minalungao National Park.

The park is a protected area of the Philippines located in the municipality of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija which covers an area of 2,018 hectares centered along the scenic Peñaranda River bordered on both sides by the amazing limestone walls in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range.
